Dreaming with Deer

YIN YOGA | STORYTELLING | DREAMING

A Virtual Winter Solstice Ritual

Monday 21st December 7PM-8.30PM(GMT)

This is your invitation to pause, reflect, dream for the year ahead, and welcome the return of the light...

On the longest night of the year, we gather in sacred circle to shed the final inner layers that are ready to fall from the branches of our dying selves, sit and savour the stillness as we tug gently on the golden threads of our soul tapestry, and muse on what we wish to lovingly weave in the coming year.

Working with the ancient story of The Deer Mother, you will be led through a series of yin shapes (with a kidney focus - linked to the season of winter), journal prompts that encourage you to reflect and let go, and a guided visualisation where you will dream on your year ahead.

All are welcome.

Slow down & reflect

While the world around you speeds up, carve out space to pause, breathe, and go inward, so you can hear the gentle pulse of what is most alive within you

Let go of what no longer serves

Let go of old fears, habits, tensions, and dreams that no longer support the person you're becoming

Welcome the return of the light

In the depths of the dark, we say a prayer, light a candle, and offer a warm welcome to the sun

Dream on the coming year

Now is the time to slip into a dream state and ponder where you might want to focus your energy when the snowdrops begin to bloom

FAQs

I haven’t practised yoga before, will this be suitable for me?

Yes - Shani will offer lots of options to cater to all levels of practice. As with all of Shani’s offerings, everything is optional, and you are invited to be your own guide and follow the intuition of your body.

I don’t have a yoga mat or props - can I still join?

Yes! If you don’t have a yoga mat, a towel or blanket can work well. Blocks can be substituted with some heavy books, and a bolster can be replaced by a firm blanket, pillow or rug rolled up.

If you would like to invest in a bolster, I recommend this one by Yogamatters - they also have great mats, blocks, and many other lovely things.

Do I need to have my camera on during the workshops?

No! You are welcome to keep your video off the entire time, and there will be no forced participation or discussion.

Will Shani be hosting future offerings like this?

Yes! There are lots of virtual gatherings planned for 2027 and beyond, including yin yoga (with a sprinkling of magic) every new moon and full moon. If you want to make sure you're the first to hear about these, email Shani here.
