The Venus Initiations
The Descent | The Underworld | The Rebirth
A one-off, virtual workshop series weaving the energy of Venus, the myth of Inanna, and the three stages of initiations
Join Shani for a very special, one-off online workshop series as part of her 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training Project.
We will work with the divinely feminine Venus cycle, mapping it with the ancient myth of Inanna, as we journey through the three stages of initiation: The Descent, The Underworld & The Rebirth, and work with three archetypes: The Lover, The Shapeshifter & The Queen.
Each workshop will include some light yoga (with options to suit everyone), journaling, guided visualisation, and storytelling. The only promise is that you will leave as a different version of the you who arrived.

WORKSHOP 1: THE DESCENT
DATE: Friday 11th September 2026 | 7 PM - 8.30 PM (BST London time)
In our first gathering, you are invited to let go of who you know yourself to be today, as you surrender on your descent to the underworld, meeting the first half of Inanna’s story, and the Lover archetype.
WORKSHOP 2: THE UNDERWORLD
DATE: Friday 2nd October 2026 | 7 PM - 8.30 PM (BST London time)
In our second gathering, we will meet with Inanna in the Underworld and the Shapeshifter archetype, shedding the skins we’ve outgrown so that we can move closer to a life and way of being that feels more true.
WORKSHOP 3: THE REBIRTH
DATE: Friday 23rd October 2026 | 7 PM - 8.30 PM (BST London time)
In our third and final gathering, we will begin our ascent out of the Underworld, meeting the second half of Inanna’s story and your inner Queen archetype, and reclaim a new way of being that serves your wise and future self.

You are welcome to keep your video off the entire time, and there will be no forced participation or discussion during any of our gatherings!

Our gatherings will be recorded for Shani’s own learning purposes, and clips may be shared with Shani’s teacher, Danielle Dulsky, as part of her YTT300 certification

An invitation for feedback will be sent after each workshop - there is no requirement to complete this, but all feedback is valued, and really helpful for improving the workshop that follows.
You will need...

A yoga mat

Any props you like (blocks, a bolster, a blanket)

Some larger A3 sheets of paper (you can stick together some a4 if needed)

Art materials (pens, crayons, chalk, paint - be as simple or elaborate as you like)

FAQs
What if I cannot make it to all the workshops live? Can I still sign up?
Yes! Don’t worry if you cannot make it to all three workshops - although they do follow on, each one stands alone in its own right, and does not depend on participation in the previous workshop.
I haven’t practised yoga before, will this be suitable for me?
Yes - Shani will offer lots of options during each workshop to cater to all levels of practice. Yoga is a small part of what we will be doing in these workshops, so please don’t let this keep you from participating. As with all of Shani’s offerings, everything is optional, and you are invited to be your own guide and follow the intuition of your body.
I don’t have a yoga mat or props - can I still join?
Yes! If you don’t have a yoga mat, a towel or blanket can work well. Blocks can be substituted with some heavy books, and a bolster can be replaced by a firm blanket or rug rolled up.
Do I need to have my camera on during the workshops?
No! You are welcome to keep your video off the entire time, and there will be no forced participation or discussion during any of our gatherings!
Is the investment £7 per workshop, or £7 for all three?
£7 gets you a ticket to all three workshops. The investment is much lower than Shani's other offerings because, although the Venus Initiations are the culmination of many years of learning, most of what will be shared in these workshops has not been facilitated by Shani before, at least not in this way. It's very much a learning experience that Shani would love you to be a part of.
